Our Journey

Our journey to creating Lighthouse has been filled with twists, turns, and plenty of unexpected challenges. Before Lighthouse was even an idea, we were both doing work we loved, feeling a deep sense of purpose and belonging in our careers. But life had other plans. Shortly before and after returning from maternity leave, we both lost our jobs when the company we worked for shut down. It was heartbreaking—this was more than just a workplace to us, it was where we truly felt we were making a difference.

At first, we weren’t sure what was next. But as we sat together, two new moms navigating change, a spark of an idea was born. We knew we wanted to continue doing meaningful work, and we knew we wanted to create something that truly mattered. What started as just a conversation quickly turned into a real vision for the future.

The road wasn’t easy. We faced tough decisions, moments of doubt, and even pushback from people who didn’t believe in what we were building. But we trusted ourselves. We knew that if we poured our hearts into something that aligned with our values, it would make a difference.

One thing was clear—there was a huge gap in mental health care, especially for children and families. We wanted to change that. We imagined a space that didn’t feel cold or clinical, but instead felt warm, safe, and familiar—like sitting in the comfort of a family’s living room. A place where kids, adults, and families could feel supported, understood, and connected.

So, we took the leap.

Today, Lighthouse is so much more than a business. It’s a reflection of everything we believe in. It’s a place where people can heal and grow, where our clients find hope, and where we, alongside an incredible team, continue to find purpose and belonging every single day.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that even in the hardest moments, there’s always a path forward. If you’re looking for a sign—to seek support, to take the next step for yourself or your family, or to embrace change—this is it. Trust your light. It will always guide you in the right direction.
